How it began

The studio’s story

PiggyAudioBooks began with a simple wish: to make more room for literature in a busy life. When there was rarely time to sit down with a novel, I began transforming beloved public-domain stories into audiobooks that could be enjoyed while driving, shopping, doing housework, or simply resting.

That personal habit grew into a small studio devoted to making classic literature vivid, welcoming, and easy to carry into everyday life. Each production is thoughtfully created as a fully cast, digitally narrated audiobook, with careful attention to character, atmosphere, pronunciation, pacing, chapter structure, and listening quality. Many titles are also accompanied by original illustrations that bring memorable scenes and settings to life.

I hope these editions help you discover, or rediscover, remarkable books wherever your day takes you.

How an edition is made

Not simply read. Carefully cast and staged.

Every title is a complete, unabridged reading of a public-domain text, produced as a fully cast, digitally narrated audiobook. The voices are digital voices, and every Spotify listing says so.

01

Fully cast

Every principal character is given a separate digital voice, cast for the age, class, temperament and period the author wrote, so a crowded scene stays clear.

02

Pronunciation and pacing

Names, places and period vocabulary are checked before recording, and the pace is set for listening while driving, walking or resting rather than for racing through.

03

Chapter structure and listening quality

Each edition keeps the book’s own chapter structure, with named tracks, an opening and a close, and a final mix checked on headphones, phones and speakers.

04

Original illustrations

Many titles are accompanied by original illustrations of memorable scenes and settings, on the covers, in the read-along videos and in the illustrated reader editions.

Credits

Who is credited for what

  • The original author wrote the book. Every title page names the author and the year of first publication, and the texts are in the public domain.
  • Piggy Story Studio produced the audiobook: selection, casting, direction, digital narration, editing, chapter structure, cover design and illustration.
  • Narration is by digital voices. No edition is presented as a human-narrated recording, and each Spotify listing carries the digital-voice disclosure.
